Building Hope in Porterville

We have seen some amazing things happen when a community comes together to build homes for hard-working families. Over the past several years, funds raised have provided home-ownership opportunities for three families and we are now seeing those families, those children, thrive. Habitat’s Porterville homeowner partners, Vanessa, Rosa, Dennis and Francine, and our newest homeowner Breanna, have joined the thousands of families across the United States and more than 60 families in Tulare and Kings Counties to become first-time homeowners through Habitat for Humanity’s home-ownership program. They have contributed hundreds of sweat equity hours to building and remodeling their homes and now their eight children have safe, decent, and affordable homes that they can call their own.

Habitat homes are built with funds donated by the local community and the generous donation of time from more than 300 volunteers every year. Habitat homeowner partners also make monthly mortgage payments back to Habitat to support the next affordable home project.

Every dollar invested with Habitat for Humanity will return 10 fold as each new Habitat homeowner partner makes monthly mortgage payments back to Habitat.
