Building Hope in Porterville: Golf Tournament
The Porterville Committee of Habitat for Humanity has cancelled the 13th Annual Building Hope in Porterville Golf Tournament. The support of the community for the event has been great, however we were unable to attract enough golfers to play at the event. With many competing golf outings packed into a short window, it proved to be difficult to find participants that could play. We will be contacting all donors to see how you would like to handle your donation. Our next event will be the Bird House Auction Gala to be held on May 19, 2023.
The need for affordable housing has not changed; if anything, it’s become even more pronounced. Today, one in six families in Tulare/Kings Counties pays half or more of its income on rent or mortgage, often choosing between paying for housing or nutritious food, reliable transportation, or healthcare needs.
When the cost of a home is our children’s future, that’s something our community cannot afford.
Your participation will support Habitat’s work in Porterville and allow us to help a local family to build strength, stability, and self-reliance. When families thrive, our communities thrive, and we all win.
Because of the generosity of people like you – nearly 600 of our neighbors in Tulare/Kings Counties have received critical home repairs and are able to remain in their homes safely and with dignity. Sixty-five of those households are living the American Dream of homeownership.
