House Sponsorship’s – Opening Doors to Opportunity!

Habitat for Humanity of Tulare/Kings Counties is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing decent, affordable housing opportunities to families in need of a healthier and more stable life. Since 1994, Habitat for Humanity of Tulare/Kings Counties has partnered with more than 60 first-time home buyers. Through volunteer labor and donations of money, services and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates houses with its homeowner families.  Each family is required to contribute up to 500 hours of “sweat equity” labor to help build or remodel their future home.  The homes are sold at no profit to families who earn between 50% and 80% of the area median income. Families are selected without regard to race, religion or national origin after considering three criteria: demonstrated financial need, willingness to partner with Habitat, and ability to repay the no-interest mortgage.  Monthly payments are structured so that they do not exceed 30% of the family’s gross income, including taxes and insurance.

Habitat is currently working on several projects; however, we realize that there is a huge need for decent housing in our area.  The family selection process is competitive. Habitat routinely turns away eligible, hardworking, low-income families because we do not have the land or resources to build enough homes.

We are currently seeking House Sponsors to invest with Habitat for Humanity and our homeowner partners. Individuals, corporations, organizations, and congregations are all invited to become a sponsor with financial support or a significant donation of labor and/or materials such as roofing, flooring, electrical, lumber and more.  There are several levels and benefits from which to choose, as it is possible for several groups to collaborate on a sponsorship.

All contributions to Habitat for Humanity of Tulare/Kings Counties are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
