25 years ago, Ed Evans opened RE/MAX Visalia and began building his team of real estate agents in Tulare and Kings counties. Now, with more than 50 agents working for RE/MAX Visalia, Ed wants to celebrate this milestone by giving back.
“This is an opportunity for the housing industry to support affordable housing and give back” said Ed. “This community has been good to us, and now we have an opportunity to be good to the community”.
Starting in January 2021, RE/MAX Visalia and Habitat for Humanity of Tulare/Kings Counties will join forces to raise funds and walls for a new home build in Visalia.
The search has begun for a homeowner partner who will work with Habitat, RE/MAX, and the community, building their forever home. They will be required to put in up to 500 hours of sweat equity building the house, they must have steady income/good credit and be a legal US resident/citizen. When the home is complete they will make affordable monthly mortgage payments back to Habitat for the life of the loan. This maintains a revolving loan fund that gives Habitat the ability to help other families in the future.
