International Women Build Week
Thank you to everyone who joined us on March 11th for Habitat’s Virtual Women Build. It was a great opportunity to learn more about Habitat’s work and hear homeowner stories about the transformation that occurred since becoming homeowners.
In July, construction began at 403 W Cameron, Hanford, giving more than 20 women volunteers the opportunity to raise walls. In December, 20 more continued construction by building a fence, installing drywall, and painting the exterior. Working together to provide affordable housing is so important for the health and welfare of families, and the entire community.
Habitat’s Women Build events provide the opportunity for women to take a proactive step in serving their communities and learn how to construct a home with no experience necessary. Volunteers work under the guidance of construction professionals, alongside other volunteers and future Habitat homeowners. Whether you are learning new skills or simply adding a few to your tool belt, this is a rewarding experience for all involved. Working together improves the community that we share. Women helping women sends a positive and powerful message. Check out pictures from other Women Builds.
