The ReStore, run by Habitat for Humanity of Tulare/Kings Counties, is a building materials thrift store that sells donated materials and supplies at a discounted price. The ReStore receives its items through donations made by retailers with discontinued merchandise, builders with unneeded material, and community members.
The ReStore has three goals:

  1. -to raise money for the construction of more Habitat for Humanity houses in Tulare County
  2. -to divert use-able materials from the landfill
  3. -to make usable materials available to the public at reasonable prices

The Visalia ReStore is now selling Visions Paint!

Habitat for Humanity ReStore relies on donations of new and gently used furniture, building materials and supplies to help support Habitat for Humanity’s on-going programs in Tulare and Kings Counties. For a list of acceptable items and more information on how to donate items to the ReStore Please Click Here!

We are always in need of volunteers at the ReStore and on other Habitat for Humanity projects. There are lots of opportunities to get involved. Learn More!

People are trying to find ways to be smarter about trash. We have become more aware of the tons of waste that ends up in our landfills and the damage that this does to our environment. New words have sprung up among environmentally friendly groups such as “up-cycle” and “re-purpose”. The concept to this movement is to find ways to take old items that are out of date or out of fashion, and create something entirely new with them.

The Habitat for Humanity ReStore has become the “Go to” place for seekers who are looking to get creative! Many businesses and websites are now featuring old items made new with a little paint and creativity. Use a window as a coffee table, or an old door as a headboard. Many of these items are available in the ReStore for a fraction of the retail cost. If you are planning a project in your near future, check out the Habitat Pinterest Page for some great ideas & start your treasure hunt at the ReStore!
