People are trying to find ways to be smarter about trash. We have become more aware of the tons of waste that ends up in our landfills and the damage that this does to our environment. New words have sprung up among environmentally friendly groups such as “up-cycle” and “re-purpose”. The concept of this movement is to find ways to take old items that are out of date or out of fashion, and create something entirely new with them.
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore has become the “Go to” place for seekers who are looking to get creative! Many businesses and websites are now featuring old items made new with a little paint and creativity. Use a window as a coffee table, or an old door as a headboard. Many of these items are available in the ReStore for a fraction of the retail cost. If you are planning a project in your near future, check out the Habitat Pinterest Page for some great ideas & start your treasure hunt at the ReStore!
